🔔 St. Anne's Holy Hour

Due to Deacon Dave’s retirement, Adoration on Thursdays will no longer be after Mass.

Adoration on Thursdays will be with Father, during Holy Hour before Mass.

📚 Classes on the Catechism of the Catholic Church

We are to have six classes, each lasting for an hour on the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) throughout the season of Autumn. The classes are meant for parishioners of both Our Lady of the Snows and St. Agnes Parishes.

They are scheduled for Tuesday evening from 6:00PM-7:00PM each week in the St. Anne’s Church Hall, 64 Free St. Dexter.

We began on Tuesday September 23rd, and we will end on Tuesday October 28th.

All the parishioners are encouraged to participate in this formation program. Please kindly do not miss this opportunity. Dr. Bill will be our resource person.

Dover-Foxcroft Knights of Columbus

The Dover Foxcroft Knights of Columbus will be having our annual Winter Warmth Raffle. This year's raffle will be for a cord of cut split seasoned hardwood, and a blanket. Both of these prizes would make great Christmas gifts.

Our next meeting is October 16th at 6:30PM at St. Thomas.

Lost and Found 🧸

A woman's wedding band was found at St. Anne's Church last weekend.

A man's wedding band was also found in the snow last winter.

Our Lady's Kitchen

Twice a month, Our Lady’s Kitchen provides a hot meal for anyone in our community at no charge. Volunteers set up the Parish Hall for up to 80 guests and a meal of either chicken, ground beef, or pork is prepared.

Some who attend leave small donations; however, our numbers haven’t been very high lately. Since we run solely on donations, we are asking for your help.

We will be outside again at the end of Mass on Sunday, October 26th, to gladly accept your donations.

Respect Life Mass 🌻🧡

Wednesday, October 29 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM

Bishop James Ruggieri will celebrate at Respect Life Mass at 4:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Wisdom Church/The Newman Center at the University of Maine. Mass will be followed by a Eucharistic procession, benediction, dinner and awards ceremony.

March for Life 2026

Thursday, January 22 at 5:30 AM to Friday, January 23 at 11:59 PM

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland has arranged an overnight bus trip to the largest human rights demonstration in the world. The National March for Life is more than just a protest, it's an opportunity to celebrate the goodness of all human life. By marching, we show that we will not be silent.

Our trip will start early on January 22nd, the day before the march, with the first passenger pickup in Orono, then in Portland, then we will travel together to Washington DC. We will return to Maine after the march on Friday, January 23rd.

🍎 Faith Formation / OCIA

Classes for Faith Formation began September 7th, 2025, and include Kindergarten through High School. Classes are Sundays in Dover Foxcroft across the street from St. Thomas Church at 1:00 PM. Please register online through the parish website (see the link below).

All adults who are yet to be baptized, confirmed, or received from another Christian denomination are encouraged to register to undergo the formation in view of undergoing the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA). Call the parish office for more information.

Protecting God's Children Formation Sessions

The Portland Diocese Office of Safe Environment mandates that all volunteers who work with the vulnerable complete the Protecting God's Children certification program, including all volunteers who may come into contact with minors in any setting, as well as all for all extraordinary ministers of holy communion.

This applies to all active volunteers who have either not completed or not maintained their certification. If you have not completed a Virtus bulletin in the past couple of months or you don't know what that is, then you will need to be re-certified. The in-person class runs 2 hours and is held at many locations and days throughout Maine.

To register for Protecting God's Children, your first step is to set up an account with Virtus, use the First Time Registrant link to sign up and select the Portland, Maine diocese from the list of organizations. You will be guided through setup of a User ID and password before registering for a session.

To Register for an upcoming session, sign in to your profile, and select "Register for Training" to select a session to attend. Sessions are held at various parishes throughout the state, you may attend any session.

Faith Formation Registration

Faith formation registration is required for all children who wish to attend, or who are participating in Sacramental preparation and Faith Formation.

Sacramental Preparation:

All children who are candidates for First Holy Communion and Confirmation must have current registration for Faith Formation. This 2-year sacramental program is open to all ages beginning in 2nd grade.

Faith Formation:

Faith Formation is offered for Kindergarten through Highschool.

Young Adult Ministry:

We are seeking out Young Adults who have finished High School but are interested in continuing their faith formation journey. If you are interested, please email the parish office.

Parish Library

Did you know our Cluster has a parish library that anyone is welcome to use? Our parish library has been open for some time now, and it has not seen much use.

The library is located at the Parish Office at 60 Free Street in Dexter, Maine. The library is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. If you cannot make it within these times, and you would like to know if we may have a specific book, please contact Ann at the parish office at (207) 924-7104 and she will go and search the library to see if we have it.

Weddings

Couples intending to marry are reminded that they must contact the pastor/priest of the parish at least six months prior to making any plans for a church wedding.

This time is needed to ensure that the freedom of both parties to enter a marriage is established, that the required documents are gathered and proper forms completed, and that adequate catechesis and marriage preparation take place.

Priests and couples are reminded that only a priest or deacon currently assigned to a parish can validly witness or delegate another minister (that is, only they can delegate either a visiting or retired priest or deacon) to perform a wedding ceremony within their parish.

Examination of Conscience

We are encouraged to draw closer to God in an ongoing journey of personal conversion. By examining our conscience and confessing our sins regularly, we grow spiritually and strive to align our lives with God’s will.

Holy Hour With Eucharistic Adoration

"I sincerely wish to encourage those who can to make an extra effort and sacrifice to join us at least once at the Eucharistic Celebration in a day each week after the obligatory Sunday or Weekend attendance. We have an adoration for one hour, before every weekday Eucharistic Celebration, even if you cannot make it for the adoration, you can make it for Mass. When it is possible to participate in both, do not miss it."
